Power Theft in Delhi

Its May and the mercury is rising new heights in several parts of the country especially in North India where the temperature has gone more than 45 degrees. People started switch on their AC early in the morning to beat the heat. But this has backfired them especially in New Delhi. There has been a plenty of power cuts all throughout the day.

Why this power cuts happening???

Almost 40% of the total power in Delhi is being stolen every day and in this 60% is used by domestic users and the remaining 40% is given for industries.

We have just reforming our power sector... In a democratic country like ours... its difficult to take reforms further where the Left calls the shots... So it will take some time to see the results...

Come 2020... U could see a less loss due to theft....

No country enjoys comfortable position as far as power theft is concerned.Even in US,millions of units of electricity is stolen every year.It exists wherever there is use of power .
India is one among the worst affected countries
